Vendor's Commission
Vendor's commission on sold Lots. (Minimum charge of £10+VAT per Lot). This includes all illustrations and marketing.
Goods entered into auction on behalf of registered charities receive reduced commission charges, providing a charity register number is produced and the payment is made directly to the charity concerned.
Reserves
Reserves are only accepted on items with a value of £100 or more. If required, reserves must be confirmed in writing at least six working days before the auction. If reserves are not received, then the Auctioneer will sell at best on the day of the sale. Please note that reserve cannot be higher than the minimum estimate published in the catalogue.
Unsold Lots
Any Lots remaining unsold are offered again in a following auction. No reserves are carried forward or are allowed for items being offered a second time. An unsold charge of 2.5% plus VAT is only charged if the owner places a reserve higher than our recommended minimum estimate.
Withdrawal Fee
A minimum withdrawal charge of £30.00 plus VAT will be levied on each Lot withdrawn. This is based on Lots with a minimum value up to £100. Over this amount the charge will be 5% plus VAT based on the Auctioneers value of the Lot concerned. The above only applies if the item has been catalogued.
Insurance
Wallis & Wallis will insure your goods against fire and theft whilst on our premises. This is charged at £1.00 per £100 value.
Payment of monies
Proceeds for Lots sold will be sent 35 days after the sale. Wallis & Wallis reserve the right to withhold payments if any dispute arises over the sale of a Lot, or to delay payment pending receipt of monies to complete overseas and home transactions.
VAT
Vendors registered for VAT must include the tax when considering reserve prices on VAT-able items. Please furnish Wallis & Wallis with your VAT registration number to enable them to inform you of exported Lots. VAT is applicable to all charges at the current rate.
